This lovely traditional French cottage was constructed in the 19th Century and is situated at the edge of a small picturesque village. Approaching the house along the village streets lined with natural stone walls, the salt water pool is the first thing you will see as you enter the through the iron gates. Inside the house you will find all the creature comforts! A washing machine, dishwasher and microwave oven are all provided, a cot is also provided at no extra cost if required.
The house is situated in Hanc, a small village at the southern most tip of the Deux-Sevres department, and benefits from a temperate climate making it one of the sunniest regions of France. When you see the rolling fields of wheat and sunflowers you will understand its nickname ‘the basket of France’!
The traditional French village nestles on a sloping hillside overlooking the valley and is tastefully Maintained, The local people are friendly and hospitable and you’ll find a children’s playground at the village centre. Vans selling bread and other essentials call by the hamlet regularly, you’ll hear them honk their horn as they park at the side of the road.
Less than 5 minutes by car brings you to the charming market town of Chef Boutonne where you will find shops supermarkets, several banks, 3 bars, restaurant, and very good Pizzeria. Best of all however, is the market every Saturday morning at which you can find everything from fresh fruit and locally grown vegetables to fine wines and local cheeses, not forgetting the fresh oysters and mussels.
